red robe; the nose has a glinting dark fruit air, a little reduction, dark berries with smoke and a floral hint, licorice. It’s a varied opening, with good prompts. The palate delivers bursting fruit with bracing tannin, saline-iodine notes, violets. It ends with pep, carbonic gas – that effect is not re-fermentation according to Gérald. It’s an up tempo wine with body. 12.5°. Bottled Nov 2019. To 2025 Feb 2020

red robe. There are alert red cherry, licorice notes, raspberry notably, a hint of damp soil, earthiness, pepper, on the nose. A floral theme runs along the palate, which is very tasty, has the good aromatic side of the Grenache, takes on quiet strength on the second half. This carries a good spine that gives it proper structure, is an interesting wine with detailed nudges along its path.  There’s a late display of powdered tannin. 13°. Bottled July 2017. £19.50 Wayward Wines Leeds. 2024-25 May 2019
