2012 ()

good pink colour. Reduction features on the nose, which has a soda pop note, crushed strawberries, a crabapple fruit roundness. Decant this or shake it about. The palate is centred on red cherry jam, a little gras in it. The gras doesn’t quite convince in its carry and cut of fruit. The length is fair. There is a light note of aniseed on the aftertaste. 13°. To 2015  Oct 2013

2011 ()

good, clear pale salmon pink. The nose is authentic, has a sprinkle of herbs, red berries, honeysuckle – interesting. Good, local, markedly STGT wine here – it has a fine line of ash tannin through it, definite spine and cut. The flanks are lightly spiced in the red berry, strawberry, crabapple fruit. Good with regional dishes, herbs in the fish and the salads. Fresh end – good lift and length. 13.5°. €3.15 export. To 2014-15  Oct 2012
