95% Clairette (1953-54), 5% Grenache blanc, pressed juice run into large barrel by natural gravity, fermented, raised 10 months


gold, a grand colour. The robe is copious, so is the nose: white raisin is accompanied by drifts of pear – it is rich and prolonged, with a late oxidative note, orange peel, leaning towards Sercial Madeira. The palate is sustained, extremely long, involves herbs, laurel, dried fruits. A mightily STGT wine. It ends on rubbed stones, while the nose after time moves towards caramel. The nose is more oxidative than the palate. Extraordinary wine, full of beans. Has never left its place of birth until tonight, when it travelled 1 kilometre to the restaurant with Pierre Amadieu.
