full, appealing red robe, its brightness handsome. The bouquet is replete, full of red berry fruits, a good summer mix of raspberry and strawberry, carries some of the vintage sweetness. The palate bears an intense level of red cherry, tangy, charry stone flavour, is decisive and very clear on the finish. It has a little developing still to do, and will emerge with a more open display in a few months. The fruit is under restraint, but well cut. It’s a serious Tavel, for boldly flavoured dishes. 14°. 2023 Aug 2020

firm pink robe. Biscuity, reserved nose of pretty big volume. The nose combines macerated red berries, with a note of candy, along with infused tea such as verbena or verveine. Gourmand, fat, spherical wine that persists here: it has a generous style, plenty of guts, a salted and fine finale. It would be good with pork, for instance, being able to cut through that. 14°. To 2016.  May 2013

quite a full pink; red cherry, baked tart air with a low-key herb underlay – a nicely accurate, typical nose. The palate fits together well; the fruit is harmonious, quite supple, and a bit of late grain comes through. The clarity of the fruit works well, and on the finish lavender and tilleul (linden) come along. STGT wine of good length and a clear finish. 14°. To 2015.  Dec 2012

pale pink; elegant, well-refined nose – has a floating, cherry aroma, plus strawberry. Is a tiny bit linear, and could be softer by September 2008. The palate is similar to the nose – has an easy, calmly shaped red fruit attack and floats out until some tightening and a gain in power towards the finish. This is a good, modern style Tavel, which has been well vinified: as a result, there is some compact refinement with the intrinsic power. Good with herbal fish dishes, fish in sauce, or even my old special dish of sea bass on a bed of fennel. To end 2009.  June 2008

pretty, low pink. Bright bouquet – neatly ripe strawberry aroma, is pretty, and has some light and air in it, so the appeal comes along without effort. Soft start to the palate, holds an appealing elegance of fruit that runs and continues well. A wine with good sequence, both length and balance are good. Nice soft fruit at the end, this is well made. Aperitif wine, or try with quiche, tapas, anchovies and herring also for the north-south venue split. June 2007
