2019 ()

(barrel/oak vat/casks) full, deep red colour; the bouquet mixes dark red berry airs with dried herbs, has a plum fruit trail as well, derived from its Grenache. It’s a solid start, as is the attack on the palate, which bears copious, rich content, munchy tannins attached. This is a big wheel wine, not far from sipping territory, has a firm core, and will stand up well with time, well suited to game, red meats. The herbal theme continues on the palate, nudges of menthol late on. This is a big Côtes rouge, delivers plenty. There are sparks of freshness on the second half, which give some lift - very helpful. From mid-2022, decant it. 2030-32 April 2021

2018 ()

(large barrel/oak vat/casks, bottling March 2020) dark red robe; the bouquet has an oily intensity, layers of soaked black cherries, sweetly tuned fruits. There’s a dusting of herbes de Provence, which the palate also picks up on. The dark red fruits run freely, with good energy, into a more cautious, rocky close. It needs another nine months or so. The fruit beckons well, is pure, and streams along nicely. Good, drinkable Côtes, up for roast beef, direct flavours. €13.50. 60% Gren, 20% Syr, 10% Mourv, 10% Cari. 2025-26 Oct 2019 Previously Oct 2018 ***(*) (Syrah part, sugars, malo completed) there is a nice little intensity of raspberry in a curvy, sunny shaped nose. The palate flows well on live fruiting, grips well, has a fresh enough close. 2028-28 Oct 2018

(large barrel, bottling Feb 2019) red robe. The nose has a glistening, inviting air of red fruit jelly, red cherry, redcurrant, a shiny liqueur aroma. There is grippy intensity on the palate, comers with firm red fruits, cherry stone, dark tannins and a slightly toppy degree. This has good heart. From 2020. 2029-31 Oct 2018

red robe; has a hearty, very typical 2016 nose, with grilling, deep mulled red berries. This is muscular, grounded, offers flair in its fruit, peppery notes late on. It has heart and depth, is a plunging wine, serve with a knife and fork. The length is great. 15°. 2033-35 Oct 2018

red robe. Light airs of spice, with herbs, top the bouquet, then a rounded, red berry strawberry underlay. The palate gives immediate pleasure, juicy red fruits, lots of gourmandise and well woven tannins. It lengthens well, is a good CHR-bistrot restaurant wine. 2022-23 Nov 2017

(barrels/casks, bottling Feb 2016) dark red. The nose is clipped, decisive; there is a smoky cherry air, with a latent sense of power beyond. The palate bears pretty intense red cherry fruit, again with a line of spirit power, firmness. It finishes with subdued strength, carries its red fruit through to the end. Just a concern about its balance due to the line of inner power. 14.5°. 75% Gren, 15% Syr, 5% Mour, 5% Cari. €12. 2020-21 £104 12 b in bond H2Vin GB www.h2vin.co.uk Oct 2015

(casks, bottling Feb 2015) medium depth red; has an open nose, shows red stone fruit, a line of licorice, a bonny air of jam of red fruits, mulberry lies inside it. The palate presents bustling red fruit, builds up clean tannins that have a fresh verve. There is a note of lavender towards the finish. Nicely directed, clear wine of sound length. It has juiced pockets of appeal, and some late glow is apparent. From spring 2016. 14°. £99 12 b in bond H2Vin GB www.h2vin.co.uk2022-23 Nov 2014

2012 ()

(casks) shiny, appealing red. Smoky, barbecue smoke, cooked and clear red fruits aroma with a sweetish note, shows laurel and some mint. The palate is tasty, offering tip of the tongue red fruit, fluid jam, coulis style. Indeed, the raspberry attack is delicious. This is nearly ready, provides a touch of pebble towards the finish, tannin and tarragon there. This can be w.o.w. wine, is fun to drink. Lamb cutlets, pork chops, couscous dishes good with it. Very good restaurant or bistrot wine. 15°. 85% Gren this year. €6 export. To 2018.  Oct 2013

2011 ()

(casks) Grenache-centric, quite full red robe, legs. The bouquet carries a coated, sweet, ripe raspberry compote and liqueur aroma that has a toffee-treacle sideshow. This is enjoyable, thorough wine: it has garrigue herb, licorice flavours, a bonny fleshy centre, with its gras richness doing a good job to render it supple. A grand drop. It is wide across the palate, and lengthens steadily, with no blips. It ends on spice and date notes. The style sought is mature over fresh. 2018-19  Dec 2012

(bottled 13 days ago, can improve beyond this rating) sound dark red; has a coffee, smoked air, notes of game and animal present, raspberry fruit with touches of mineral and cough medicine. The blackberry fruit is juicy on the palate, then picks up chalky, crisp tannin and ends on tar, smoky-burnt notes. Not all together, and rattled by its recent bottling. Has a darting length, the finish is dry for now. Can get together. From 2013 spring. 14.9°. 60,000 b this year. €10 at the cellars. 2019-20 Feb 2012

2009 ()

(barrel) dark, lustrous robe. Raisin black-red fruit jelly aroma – bundled-up black fruit that has clean airs, is direct. Has a prune, black cherry flavour with moments of juiciness, is tasty. It stretches out well, picks up smoky tannins that lead to a full finish. In a primary, straightforward state for now. Well-blended, modern Côtes du Rhône that is true and w.o.w. I can feel the charge of 2009 on its aftertaste. Food, not solo drinking. 2015-17 Oct 2010

2005 ()

(pre-bottle) cleanly-cut fruit aroma with a little oak, reflects fresh red berries. Ripe fruit, dark flavours on the palate, really jolly roundness, needs to absorb its oak on the finish. Fresh wine, its length is OK. Doesn’t need more oak – but will get it – due for bottling May 2007. Promising at heart, try from 2008. 2014-16 Nov 2006

sound red robe; dumb bouquet – is square-shaped now with hints of red fruit and herbal garrigue. Also solid on the palate, is structured to evolve gradually. The 2005 fruit is more exuberant. This is red stone fruits with a little nuttiness at the end. Not a straightforward evolver – needs to be monitored for its best moment. 2013-15 Nov 2006

2003 ()

softening nose that is ripe and rounded, gives an aroma of supple red fruit. The palate presents red fruits with a prickle of tannin, has pastille traces from the extreme ripeness of the year. It is nicely easy to drink, still young, and without freshness, as expected from the vintage. Its bit of sweetness works well, the length is good. The tannins are well integrated, too. 2011-12  Nov 2006
