Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan from clay-limestone garrigue soils, destemmed, 12-21 day vinification at 25°-28°C of varieties apart, pumping overs, concrete vat raised 15-18 months, filtered, drink with meats in sauce, terrines


Bottle 1: corked. Bottle 2: dark red, jolie robe; the nose is round, on mulled red berry fruits, mulberry, a little note of coolness, near damp, and a hint of thyme attached. The palate is an instant take on raspberry fruits, coulis in style, the tannins very soft. It’s on the go via its open fruiting. It is peppery along the palate, is up for grilled foods, spaghetti bolognese right now. There is a little increase in depth and grain on the finish, so it can be left until spring 2020 if you want more fusion on the close. 2026-28 Oct 2019

2014 ()

mild red robe. The nose deals an aroma of sweet cherries, a plump centre to it, some strands of licorice. The palate is easy going, softly textured, drinks loosely and roundly. This is a wine bar wine, solo or with grilled sausages, for example. There is a smatter of herbes de Provence and a little grain tannin on the finish. It lacks the stature of the leading Cairannes and their multi-dimensional character. It’s pleasant, if restricted. 13.5°. To 2019 May 2017
