plum red colour, notably Grenache in tone. The bouquet has a cooked damson plum aroma, with a prancing note of menthol freshness. The palate is an easy going affair, presents soft red fruits with a hint of tannin, has a thread of tannic spine that keeps its shape. The aftertaste is a touch dry for now, so leave until late-2021, or drink with red meats, bold flavours. 14°. 2026-27 April 2021

decent red robe. Has a honey, caramel air, displays sweet, mulled stone fruits. This is young and at a pre-spicing stage – that will come through in two years. The palate has a gummy, sweet make-up which persists through the palate: it is traditional, rather stolid wine, suited to dishes such as stews. Has “dark” notes, flavours of dates, black raisins, with spice on the finish. Sturdy wine. 13.5°. €7.50 at the cellars. To 2017  Dec 2012
