dark, full red robe; the nose is filled up with concerted black cherry, a note of iodine, seaweed that helps to free it. It’s wide, rather imposing, carries purity. The palate surges from the go, gives a wave of ample cherry, blackberry fruit, keeps its shape well, finishes with a lucid tone, licorice on the aftertaste. There is pleasing abundance here – you will certainly not feel short changed. It’s tasty, is mostly about fruit rather than place, though there are some herb notions late on. 14.5°. 2025-26 April 2021

(vat) plum coloured robe, a matt presence in it. The nose sits on the back foot, gives a little faint raspberry and a suggestion of rosemary. The palate is also on the brief side, with a low-key coating of red fruits and a nudge of late tannin. Correct, but low profile. 13.5°. To 2020  June 2016
