Grenache, Syrah, destemmed, 2-3 week steel vat vinification, vat raised 6-8 months, filtered, “drink with grills, red meats, daily cuisine”

2019 ()

dark red colour; the bouquet has instant appeal, lines up cherries with a firm hold, the aroma steady, not loose, has a discreet note of plum, spicing. The palate drinks well, is led by its Grenache, a supple and tasty development of red stone fruits, the finish well controlled, tight. It carries vintage concentration, has a good, firm foundation, and can show well over a few years. 14.5°. €9.50 at the domaine. 2025-26 May 2021

2016

bright, quite dark red colour. The nose has a cosy aroma of cherry fruits, blackberries, some clear detail in the fruit. There’s a note of sage, and it’s quite broad. The palate rolls out on a ball of berry fruits with inner strength, ground force, the degree a humming factor. It ends on dried herbes de Provence, some chewy tannins. The fruit has a little intensity. This is in transition from its first youth, and will now be best left until spring 2018 – a cold snap will aid its fusion and declaration. It’s a table wine, not solo. The finish shows graininess now, with licorice on the aftertaste. 14.8°. To 2021 Nov 2017
