firm yellow robe; the bouquet is pure, carries an air of peach, has an airborne style, some intrigue, a deft floral note. The palate starts with a buttery entry, has carbonic gas present, takes an elegant route, style in its richness which runs nice and easily, steadily. The aftertaste is clear, minted, agreeable. It will be good with steamed dishes. 13.5°. 2024 Dec 2020

has a correct yellow robe. Peach, soft flowers, nuttiness combine on the nose, which has a soft fragrance, a light citrus note. The palate is soft and nicely proportioned, all rolled up in a ball of easy, fleshy content. It’s a wee bit short, as it concentrates its depth forward and mid-palate. There is a fine ginger touch on the close. 13°. To 2021 Feb 2018

full yellow robe. The bouquet transfers from the robe in being very ripe, with a plunge of white fruits, white peach, greengage and apricot present. The palate is firm on the attack, close-knit, has an infused tea, tilleul presence with a savoury gras in a lip-smacking finale. There is a little carbonic gas giving it mid to late-palate pep. It’s not yet settled down, so leave until spring 2017. 12.5°. 2021-22 Oct 2016

shiny yellow robe. The nose gives a soft aroma led by peach fruit, with a little note of cut via aniseed-licorice, lime. The palate runs steadily, with a compote of white fruits at its centre. There is a lightly nutty finale. Sound white Crozes, but just a bit on the light side. 13°. €17. To 2019  Oct 2015

even yellow colour; this has a very Marsanne air – it is strong on the hazelnut, vanilla, with a run of Montelimar nougat. The palate is quietly stylish, perhaps a little too airborne. Its features are precise, the fruit clear, a wine that leans towards the aperitif in style. It ends discreetly, roundly, a little grip. A bit dumb, but can develop, so decant. The length is sound. Shows the presence of carbonic gas. From late 2014. 2019-20  Nov 2013

medium yellow, oily aspect. Lime, tilleul or linden, iodine airs here – the low key notes of spring; acacia flowers and white raisin add interest. Glazed fruits and hazelnut also come in a wide setting. The palate is interestingly full, nothing overdone. Good depth, has a white jam flavour and a sprightly acidity emerges after half way. It draws to a steady, compact conclusion, has a baked orange aftertaste. Fine-featured Marsanne lies at its centre. 12.5°. To 2018.  Nov 2012

2010 ()

rich aspect to quite a full yellow; nut, brioche bread, smoky air – the nose is good and sustained, has agreeable floral touches. The palate has finesse within its power and solid matter. Light touch wine in its later stages – it expresses itself freely, and shows good acidity and clarity on the finale. Attractive, has good balance, and attractive, fresh length. 12.5°. To 2016 June 2011

2009 ()

the yellow robe is full; there is a build-up of exotic fruit as it evolves, but overall the bouquet is a bit dumb at present, dusty. The palate has a meaty style – there is a thorough heart here. It emerges on an apricot note on the finish, with a customary Marsanne tang. The acidity is correct, so this can live well. There are fine moments towards the finish; I find the Petite Ruche 2009 more obviously robust. 12.5°. 2019-20 June 2011

(vat portion) fennel, aniseed aroma. Scented boiled sweets flavour, peach on aftertaste, good content, rounded finale. Agreeable for early drinking. Dec 2005

2004 ()

yellow colour; ripe fruit aroma, taken to lengths to emerge buttery. Rounded, low acidity wine, with a clean, agreeable finish. The mid-palate holds some mineral, then comes a little chewiness on the finale. Good example of Marsanne, I like the clarity on the finish. Simply sauced fish, more considered cooking deserves to be served with this. Dec 2005

crème patisserie/flan, bonbon. Ripe Marsanne fullness on palate, solid texture. Fair breadth, touch of kirsch on finale. Has volume, not heavy though. Flan effect on finish. Food wine. 2011-13

quite high tone/varnish bouquet: exposure to air clears it, but it is not very full. There is a steely side to the palate, crisp white fruit, some end width. No great grip. 2010-11

suave toast/fruit aromas; fair grip, white fruit/dried fruits palate. Correctly tight on finish. Esp 2005-06 on. 2011-12

broad tropical fruit aroma; quite sappy white fruit, some restraint at end, sinew and dried fruits. Full. 2007-08

some mineral, light honey/nut nose; light peach, fair grip, nice end fullness. 2007-08

now has exotic fruit/cheese aroma, was floral; fair flavour, tiring a little. Quite light finish. Early wine.
