2017 ()

(casks) dark robe, a subdued hue to it. The nose is rather sweet, peppery, black pepper, with a savoury, meaty, ripe aspect, a noble volatility in its creamy blackberry fruiting. The palate reflects the nose, has a sweet display of fleshy content, delivered in an obvious manner. It takes on grip, welcome firmness, towards the finish, and produces a late blue fruit, mineral and oaked burst. Its various elements require another two to three years to meld together. From mid-2021. 2038-40 Dec 2018

(casks) deep, dark robe. The nose carries an engaging abundance, shows reduction, plenty of unfinished business therefore. Prunes, stewed fruits sit comfortably inside it. The palate has a savoury nature, a rolling content of red fruits with smokiness, tar. There is a pine aspect on the aftertaste, with a rocky tang; I find its oak well founded. This is honest, genuine STGT Cornas, perhaps reflects some whole bunch inclusion on the second half with its mineral-vegetal display. From late 2019. 2031-34 Nov 2017

(casks) full, dark robe. The bouquet is broad and firm, comes with a coated aroma of black berry fruit, smoky bacon, is tickly knit together. The palate is a bundle of black fruits with drive in its tannins, a smoky imprint from them, with the finish full of running, producing savoury, stylish juice. This moves very well along the palate, catches the attention, has excellent length. From mid-2019. 2032-34 Oct 2016

2013 ()

dark, bright robe. Lamb stock, mulberry aroma, a little rosemary present: the nose has sound depth, and bears a little mystery, so the future is promising. The palate starts clearly, delivers good Cornas cut and stylish fruit that surges a long way, the length good. It keeps going in the best 2013 fashion, has a good, solid Cornas character; the tannins are not patsies – they are firm, and give the wine shape. Oak appears on the aftertaste, and it is full of beans as it ends. From 2017. 2029-31  Jan 2015
