healthy dark and shiny robe; has a rippling blackberry aroma that comes with licorice inserts, some spice, the air of dusty stones. Engaging fruit immediately on the palate – this is very drinkable, has lovely energy, lots of abundant fruit with the late entry of tannin and hence a more nutty late texture. Shows licorice and eucalyptus notes, the length is good. A fun, stand up drinking wine, w.o.w. Barbecues suited. €7.35 at the cellars. To 2016 May 2012

Clos des Estaillardes is the name on the label: pretty, full red robe. Has a blackcurrant, farmyard aroma, is just a little dry. Decanting a benefit. The palate gives likeable cooked fruit, the flavour plum as in Grenache, has a little spice with it. The length is fair. This has structure, a few tannins still present. Spicy, beau and serious for a Ventoux. It has improved for being left: after 45 minutes more brambly, winning fruit comes through. To 2007  Feb 2005
