attractive dark red robe; the bouquet is wide, has a sultry nature, a sweet-toned, cooked red fruits aroma, burnt rubber, with reduction, so there is a “high” note to it – allow it to breathe or decant, therefore. The palate gives a flavour of stewed fruits, has a lush, fleshy take, is ample, tasty, with a note of spine that helps its shape on the second half, introducing some powdered tannins. The fruit is nice and immediate, and it’s suited to lamb dishes, generous flavours. 14.5°. 2027-28 Nov 2020

(vat) healthy full red robe. A blackberry and its fruit lozenges aroma greets the drinker, an appealing plumpness. The palate runs with style, holds dark fruit with a crunchy line of tannin that prevails on the second half. Has a notably rocky aftertaste, and needs more raising to refine itself. There is a degree of punch in this. €8.35. From 2017. 2021-22  Oct 2015

dark red, shiny robe. The top note on the nose is one of cool black fruit; under that lies raspberry jam in discreet depth. This is a joli, stylish bouquet. The palate gives a good swing of dark, latterly grainy, peppered fruit. This is a real good attack setting it en route. Accomplished, modern Côtes that has gusto, is close to w.o.w., especially thanks to its clear, still running finale. 2017-18  Oct 2013

attractive, quite full red robe. Crunchy, plum liqueur fruit aroma with grilled, arid lands airs, black raisin – this bouquet is a bit of a beefcake. The palate is wide, rather sturdy, has a filled, coated style, plenty of ripeness, almost power. It pushes through to a prune and pine flavour finale, accompanied by dark, near Christmastime spices and tar. Needs food. There is a lot to get into here – a wine for the Rugbymen, for example, and autumn and winter dishes after the big match. Has a tarry exit. To 2016.  Oct 2012

quite a full dark red robe. The nose is round – holds blackberry fruit, and comes with a winning sweetness, plus light leather influences. Really juicy, well-directed palate, whose early fruit rocks along before it tightens from its currently slightly grainy tannins. The length is good. This is a good example of lively, fruited Côtes du Rhône with a little structure that will allow it to live for around 5 years. From 2012. It offers lots of appeal, can be drunk solo, but better with food due to its tannins. To 2017. July 2011

matt hue to the red robe that is clear. Reductive, animal notes along with plum fruit on the nose, light pepper and tar airs – this needs decanting. This is a texture-led wine; it holds an ample, quite sweet gras richness, and moves sideways rather than straight along thanks to its fat Grenache heart – that is what is obviously expressed. Has a full finish for a regular Côtes du Rhône, and some glow. Best with foods, is not a solo drinker. 14°. Glad to find a better bottle this time around. 2018-19 July 2011 Previously Oct 2010 (*) 2 bottles tasted – 1st bottle spritzy. 2nd bottle: mild red, not a thorough robe. Facile, rather ordinary nose, shows a bit of red fruit, also has spritz lurking. Light red fruit-spice palate, is briefly wide late on. Ordinary: lacks pedigree, and dries towards the finish. to 2012. Oct 2010

mild red robe; pepper-red jam, mixed aroma – this is a pliant, friendly, slightly floral bouquet. The palate is similar, bearing red jam flavours that have a sweet side; it continues steadily, can be drunk on its own, sans food. Mild n`easy wine that shows a little late tannin. Sympa wine with a genuine heart. 2010-11 Dec 2008

mild red; there are pockets of red jam and some pepper in a well-knit bouquet. Has a pepper-poivron taste – is live, on the wire. Drink now to 2011, but will be rounder and more settled from the second half of 2008. There is a late bout of tannin, and it is a bit uneven now. Jan 2008

some brightness in the red robe; carries a cherry and berry aroma of some depth and width, with a smoky top note. Is easy to drink, with its soft fruit that grips well enough. Some late spice and tannin, and black fruit on quite a firm ending: can therefore run beyond this first flush. To 2010. June 2007
