2025 NORTHERN RHÔNE

INTRODUCTION

Extremely small yields hit the growers hard in 2025, be they for Condrieu or the Syrahs.

However, the reds are something of a tour de force, having impressed me right from the go last year. They are notable for their delicious richness and considerable length, the latter amazingly in place even after exiting the fermentation vats.

I have an extended trip across the Northern Rhône in October, 2026, and am lined up to taste a serious amount of wines from this potentially outstanding vintage.

The whites are full, deep, less live than the spring-heeled 2024s. Quality is good, though, with domaines now well on top of harvest dates and cellar handling of bunches with small grapes on them.
