60% Grenache (mid-1960s), 25% Syrah (late 1980s), 15% Mourvèdre, whole bunch 33-day fermentation all 3 varieties together, part vat emptying/refillings and cap punching by foot, aged in 20 oak casks with Louis Barruol of Ch Saint Cosme 7 months, then vat 2 months, unfiltered, 6,000 b


dark colour. Clean oak air with a sweet underlay of tar and leather – this is a wide shouldered bouquet that is aromatic, shows good restraint. Stylish fruit comes forward on the attack; it flows well, is tasty and round on the finish. Has style and a northern climes finesse. The flavour is wholesome, reflects prune and freshness, with blackberry jam and black olive tapenade on the aftertaste. 14°. 2022-23  Oct 2012
