80% Viognier, 20% Marsanne (2011) from clay-limestone, blue marl soils at 200 metres, steel vat fermented at 18-21°C, raised 7 months, malo blocked, filtered, first wine 2014, “drink as aperitif or with grilled fish, apricot patisserie”, 1,200-1,500 b


pale yellow, shiny robe. Has a low-key aroma that mingles apricot and hazelnut, ripe peach, light mandarin. It’s a charming start. Carbonic gas marks the attack – there is a sensation of that, with suave and coated content behind. It finishes freshly and firmly on tang from the Marsanne. There is an interesting N Rhône take here. The flavour combines greengage with honeyed touches, vanilla. It’s a little candy-like, cellar-led once tasted on Day 2. 14°. 80% Vio, 20% Mars. 1,200 b.
