50% Grenache, 40% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre (vines mid-1980s-mid-1990s) from S/S-W facing clay with plenty of limestone soils at south of appellation, destemmed, 4-5 week vinification at 20°C, gentle top of vat daily cap punching, concrete vat raised 10-12 months, unfined, filtered, organic wine, biodynamic wine, 7-12,000 b


clear red robe. Red and white meat airs show with a ping of purity in the fruit, mulberry, herbs, rosemary; it has a rocky smokiness. This is a naked, off the bat wine with neat raspberry fruit at its centre. It’s also on a smoky, crisp trail, lithe tannins here. There’s a touch of late glow. It needs time to amplify a little around its direct spine. Nordic palate will love this style, the USA mainstream less. 14.7°. 7,000 b. From spring 2018. 2022-23 Oct 2017


(vat) steady red robe. The nose gives a kind air of blackberry, black cherry fruit, which has a jelly-like quality. The palate sequels closely from the nose, with a further offer of neat black fruits, a dab of tannic darkness attached. The finish is already becoming rounded thanks to the ripeness of the tannins.
