Grenache, with Mourvèdre from sand-limestone-clay, gravel stone soils, purchased wine, destemmed, 4-5 week concrete vat vinification at 25°C, daily pumping overs, aged 90% concrete vat, 10% 600-litre oak casks 12 months, unfined


fair red robe with a lighter rim. The nose is brewed, a little stewed via black fruits that carry some reduction. Air will help it to clarify. Black stone fruits are to the fore, with a smoky trail. The palate is peppery, direct, carries black fruits with a swish of gras just before the peppery, grainy close. It has fair width, and will be softer all through from 2018. A sensible Vacqueyras without bells and whistles. 14.5°. Gren, with Mourv. €16.50 at the cellars. 2023-24 May 2017

full robe. The bouquet carries an air of raspberry, some sweet herbs, isn’t fully out and about yet. There is a latent note of baking. The palate holds prominent juiced black fruit content that has a black pepper presence, then a rush of tannin that is dark and drying for the time being. It could have been bottled a little later, I feel. There is some energy, so leave until 2017. Decanting an option. 14°. €16.40. 2023-24  Dec 2015
