(casks) dark red. The bouquet carries local colour, spice, plum fruits, licorice, a note of iodine. The palate gives black-fruited content with some style, continues safely, with some salted tannins clustering on the smoky finish. This has character, is an unpretentious, unhurried Châteauneuf with local suggestions. There is a pleasing floral hint along the palate. From 2021. 2039-42 Oct 2018

2014 ()

plum red colour with a dark red centre. This has a genuine, round plum and strawberry aroma that comes with good local typicity; there is a wee note of spice and rose hip – charm on the agenda. This comes forward with juicy appeal, then the swift arrival of crisp tannins that have a powdered, garrigue nature. This is a virtuous 2014 that captures the vintage very well, very faithfully. It’s a spherical wine and that’s what you had to be in 2014. Charm and authenticity, STGT in the making here. It is well juiced to the finish. There are Pinot associations here. Serve in a large glass. 2030-32  July 2016
