LVT 2016 r 2015 wh 2015 rosé Formed in 2008 out of necessity, with falling sales all around the region's Co-operatives. The Cave des Vignerons de Laudun was formed in 1925, the Cave de Chusclan in 1939. The move has paid off, with the new business now on a more secure footing, and the wines ranging from reliable to good. There are 200 Co-operateurs, half of whom account for 95% of the wine. However a recent re-branding to the name Maison Sinnae has produced an utterly daft website, and a camouflaging of what the wines truly are, their details, soils etc. Style over substance, and a waste of good money, unless you have cosmic impulses.
The style is for fresh, accessible drinking, with good whites and rosés, too. The red Chusclan Excellence, based on old vines, was a ***(*) w.o.w. wine in 2015. Among the whites, the 2015 Laudun Terra Vitae was a fresh *** wine. At 1,500 hectolitres, this is a large producer of white wines, for which Northern Rhône grape varieties – Marsanne, Viognier, Roussanne – were planted as a policy from the mid-1990s. There are 2,750 hectares of vineyards out of a total area possible to cultivate of 3,000 hectares.
