50% Grenache (early 1970s), 50% Merlot (1999) fro Orange, around the domaine, light crush, whole bunch 15-20 day fermentation, daily pumping overs, press wine added, concrete vat raised 17-18 months, fined, unfiltered, first wine 2005, “a serious wine, but intended to be accessible and easily drinkable”, 9,000 b

(vat) full dark red robe; the nose is intense for a vin de pays, layers of mulberry and blackberry present, a generous bounty in them, and touches of garrigue herbs. This is a winner for its grade, holds enjoyable, ready black fruits with texture and stuffing, a real roll of pleasure. It develops a cluster of pebbly tannin, tar, towards the finish. It’s a table wine, great with lamb, for example. The aftertaste extends well, the tannins needing more time to settle, and refine a little. From spring 2021, though can be drunk before then if you aren’t fussy. 2029-31 Oct 2019

2010 ()

good red robe; attractive, heather, moorland aroma backed by red berry fruit which is rather rich. The palate delivers expressive, crunchy red fruit, has a live energy about it, a crispness, with active tannins that give it a good brace. There are assertive licorice and smoke features. A toothsome, crystalline, w.o.w. wine, in the domaine style, and a very good vin de pays. Exported to Japan, and USA. €3.50. 14°. To 2018  Dec 2012
