full yellow robe; the bouquet is sturdy, with an outer air of ripe mandarin fruit, that just peeks out for now. It’s a weighted opening, with much more to come, is perhaps in a phase of shutdown. The palate is broad across the attack, has a rolling wave of deep content, with lip smacking tones and a sweet-noted take towards the extended close, oak present there. Brioche, apricot feature in the nutty flavour. This is robust, firm, grounded Châteauneuf blanc that carries the density of this sunshine, dry vintage; it is set to go with bold flavoured dishes, Mediterranean cuisine including Lebanon, North Africa. It holds its power within check, and will benefit from decanting. Day 2: oaking comes forward prominently, borderline excess, so open and drink. 15°. 600 b. 2028-30 June 2020
