quite a yellow colour; orange, tinted with spice aroma, and a little butterscotch from the use of very ripe crop, also flan and pineapple. On the second day – apricot and vanilla now. Easy, savoury flavour of dried apricots that is, like the bouquet, spiced – suggest the influence of the Roussanne. Showing well now, with an interesting combination of varieties that convey a stimulating finesse. Plenty of character, a wine above its category. Lots of heart, is rich and oily. 2010-12 June 2007
