(vat/casks) dark robe; the bouquet is warm, a little pumped up, carries vintage fat in the ripeness of its fruit, and a sense of the South, black olives. The palate bears effusive black fruited content with some chiselled tannins attached, has a slightly cool note along the second half, which helps its definition. It is rather propped up by oak towards the finish, isn’t all as one. From 2022. 2031-33 Nov 2019

full, sober red robe. The bouquet has scale, is overtly oaked, chips maybe, could have been raised longer, since it is bottled already. There is an inlay of small black fruits. The palate serves varnished oak with an undercurrent of black fruits which have a tasty nature. The oaking should be less, the fruit more prominent. Wait until spring 2020, which is a pity, given the freedom of the fruit. 13.5°. 2025-26 Dec 2018

2015 ()

(vat/casks) dark robe. Crushed nutshells, mackerel fish, smokiness of oak show on a left field nose. There is a cassis fruit air lurking. The palate bears raspberry fruit with some clipped tannins which stand outside towards the finish. It’s a tight-knit affair, a Crozes for dishes such as lamb. It has a rather rugged, refusenik nature. Decant it. 13°. 10,000 b. From 2018. 2024-25 Oct 2016

(casks) quite dark, but not a fresh looking robe. Very piercing, towards eau de vie note on the nose, pine, and is melancholic next to its bright 2010 neighbours. The palate bustles with pushy action, is a child of the cellar, extracted after airing. Initially it was rather enjoyable with violet notes in its fruit. Retaste this – it is not yet bottled. dark tints, matt tone to robe. Raspberry, raspberry liqueur airs in a round and easy bouquet. The palate is also rounded, nearly ready to drink. It holds comfortable red fruit that is scented, has violet and rose-hip influences. There is a touch of tar in its length, seems like a Mercurol style wine with some refinement about it. The aftertaste is plum and strawberry in flavour. From mid-2011. 13°. 2017-18 Nov 2010

snappy, leathery air at first, but the air softens it a bit. Has matter, but needs air. Ripe, rather downplayed fruit that lacks late lift. Shows a burst of late tannins, in the style of 2004 with a bit more weight to it. To 2012. Feb 2009
