2016 ()

Victoria plum red colour; the bouquet is agreeably soft, has a mixed berries, cooked fruits aroma, back notes of spice, dustiness, in keeping with its location. This drinks well, has evolved into a rather brimming offer of plum fruit content followed by dark, smoky tannins that carry vigour and carry strength rather than refinement. There are good splashes of local colour in this spiced, grounded wine, notes of late power, iodine. It’s genuine, lusty and elemental, is to drink with bold flavours, red meats. 14.5°. 2024-25 June 2020

2015 ()

good, sturdy dark red robe. The bouquet has a creamy nature, via stewed red fruits with some lurking reduction from the Syrah. It’s nicely together, evenly filled. The palate comes with cool plum fruit, spicing built in, and stands up well to the finish thanks to a broad, sealed content. The finish is fresh, cool as well. The fact that this is mainly Syrah takes away from its truly local appeal, with the wine needing a little more fat from the Grenache. It’s still raw, rather rugged, and will benefit from leaving until mid-2018. 14°. 35,000 b. 60% Syr, 35% Gren, 5% Mourv. 2023-24 June 2017

dark red, filled robe. The nose is sturdy, very much of southern lands. It gives a brewed plums, prune aroma, is just a bit on reduction. The palate starts on powdery, peppery content, has solid depth, and sustains quite powerfully to the line, where there is a grainy finish. It is quite pumped up. Eat beef casseroles, stews, game with this. Decanting a help. 14.5°.65% Syr, 35% Gren.  €9.90 at the cellars. To 2018  Jun 2015  Previously Oct 2013 *** rather full plum red colour. Supple, squeezy black fruit air of sweet appeal, light rosemary and licorice, a small note of reduction: the bouquet is nicely open and full. The palate provides supple waves of black fruit with a chiselled angle later on, ending pretty clear. Solid quality, suited to a variety of dishes such as grills, stews. There is good cut and movement in the fruit. Genuine wine, sound length. Drinks well now. 15°. €5.95 ex cellars. To 2017  Oct 2013
