red robe; has a jaunty, bright cherry air, goes up and down, is clear and rather buzzy, as is the palate, which runs with good streams of red fruits, then peppery, local notions late on. The close is dentelle or toothsome, with a touch of tannin. This has plenty of zip – it does what the label says – quenches the thirst. “It’s perfect if you are thirsty, is low on alcohol,” Gérald Oustric. There is quiet foundation within – this is a w.o.w. wine that isn’t just ephemeral. 12°. To 2024 May 2019
