The Wines

Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre from gavel & limestone scree soils, hand harvested, part destemmed, 3 week vinification, twice daily pumping overs

2005

full, blackberry colour; has a broad, resident aroma with depth in the fruit that is a bit mulled, and also carries some fundamental, touch damp airs. The palate is appealing – its blackberry-soaked cherries fruit moves off with decent body, and a whole texture, all as one. Very correct, unpretentious wine which runs well to the finish, has good, clean lines. Its fruit is nice and clear. From 2009. 2017-20  June 2008

2003 ()

scented tea, quite full nose that is compact, upright and has plenty to come. There is also potential for more on the palate; this has good, local feel, and is an STGT wine. It is nicely potent and live. There is good Grenache running through it – it is a wine that delivers, and suggests autumn or winter drinking is best. 2007 on. 2015-17  July 2005
