2017 ()

red robe; there is a smoky top note to the black cherry fruit on the nose, a hint of licorice. The palate gives soft and enjoyable black fruit, has a streamlined nature, smooth all through, the tannins included. There’s some southern stuffing and a hint of inner power, so it’s certainly best suited to roast meats, spaghetti dishes. It’s pretty much ready to go now, though the aftertaste will extend further from spring 2020. 14°. 2022-23 Oct 2019

dark red; the nose is not yet fully on the go, has a soaked red cherries, liqueur take, a beefy air, some reduction. It lingers, lasts, shows some smokiness. The palate has good heart, a compact collection of red-fruited matter at its core, with intensity along the second half. It has very correct structure – it gains as it goes, and there is a dip into a pool of rose fragrance on the aftertaste. Decanting helpful. The aftertaste is lip smacking. 14°. 2026-27 Mar 2019

2015 ()

purple and red robe of medium depth. A dusty, garrigue aroma leads the bouquet, has an inner raspberry air. It wavers on a hot vintage high wire, has a little appealing variety, dustiness, cherry and kirsch in the mix. A menthol streak runs through the palate; its fruit is rather stylish, neat. This is STGT Ventoux with the fruit from warm terraces, notes of dried herbs, thyme, on the finish. It is very good with lamb, rosemary, garlic. It has good structure, is a superior Ventoux, a joli vin. 13.5°. 28,200 b. 2020-21 July 2016
