100% Clairette blanche (1960s) from Galiguières, fermented, raised 500-litre oak casks 9 months, lees stirred, malo completed, first year 2019


full yellow robe. The bouquet is firm, not yet emerged, with a ginger, brioche tone to it, cooked orange and oak toasting, grilling. The palate is close-knit, sturdy, has a thorough grounding of tangy flavours, marmalade, a full drilling in its make-up. This is grounded, cellar-prepared for now Châteauneuf, and is a wine for the medium to longer-term, à table with sauced dishes. A bright, well ripened fruitiness lies at its heart. It’s going to be full and tasty as it evolves. Decanting very much advised. Bottled July 2020. From mid-2021. 2030-32 Aug 2020
