40% Grenache blanc, 40% Clairette, 20% Roussanne (late 1970s-early 1980s) from La Crau, destemmed, steel vat fermented at 15-18°C, raised 5 months (has been raised new 228-litre oak casks 5 months), lees stirred, malo blocked, 4,000-12,300 b

clear, attractive yellow robe; the bouquet gives a precise white-fruited aroma, a note of pear, mild peach, discreet grapiness, winsome spring flowers. The palate has a softly juicy approach, is all very neat and unshowy, has a rather tame mixed white fruits’ flavour, finishes with suave discretion. It’s a New Wave take on Châteauneuf blanc, a very soft pressing helping its smooth, easy flow. It has the body for steamed dishes, seafood such as steamed clams, but not the depth for robust flavours. The aperitif is also an option. 14°. 40% Gren bl, 40% Clairette, 20% Roussanne. 2024 Nov 2020

bright yellow colour. The nose is quiet, carries potential, gives a light note of buttery roundness, pear fruit, oven roasted nuts. The palate delivers immediate, enjoyable gras richness which is spiced and tangy in its late moments. This is bright, stylish, has body and good, collected poise. It holds good attributes from its terroir and from the vintage. STGT wine, thus. Has a long, sinewed finish. 13.5°. 4,000 b. €33.80. 2025-26  Oct 2015

pale yellow robe. The nose is subdued, gives perhaps a hint of apple. There is fruit on the palate, but it is reserved and restrained. This offers little exuberance and flavour, so appears rather bland. 13°. 2019-2020 JL Oct 2014

pale yellow, steady robe. Hazelnut, smoky aroma that comes with a real dash of almond, shows some mustiness, sadly, though that fuzziness reduces. The palate is nice and firm, has a fresh second stage, a taut late moment, with an underlay of richness. This is graceful in style, is OK for aperitif drinking. It has a tannic, firm side and develops with air, softening, and its note of taint exits. Has a quince, lime flavour, is a slow developer. 13.5°. 2019-21 Christmas Day, Dec 2010, East Sussex Previously March 2009 **(*) pale yellow robe; there is pretty richness in the bouquet – white fruits with some high tone in the air. The palate commences with white fruits that have a herbal seasoning, almost like verveine in the flavour, or scented tea. This has good core matter, and will drink serenely. The texture is good and smooth. 2016-17 March 2009
