attractive, bright dark red robe; the bouquet swims with cherry fruit, mulled-liqueur in style, has a sweet tone overall, with density in the aroma. The palate swishes along well, offers entertaining blackberry fruits with a sweet succulence that rides its luck well. It’s not that long, is an instant offer Gigondas, its swell juiciness appealing. It has some vintage thickness, sun, and is very much up for steaks, grills, spaghetti Bolognese. It goes ready for performance over structure, has been well made to deserve free drinking in bistrots and local restaurants, which it may one day receive. There is a little glow on the aftertaste. 14.5°. 2029-31 Jan 2021

dark red. The bouquet gives black berry fruit with restraint, a notion of mixed herbs, the depth pretty good. It has some reduction, so allow it to breathe or decant. The palate bears easy access mulberry, dark red berry fruit with a ping of tannin. There is a slight note of baking as it finishes. This is a fruit-forward Gigondas that will please in its youth, given the openness and the attractive fruit. 14.5°. 5,600 b. 2026-27 Oct 2017

mild red robe. The nose gives a grilled pork, cooked plum fruit aroma, the plum fruit rather Pinot-esque. The palate starts sweetly, with lissom, textured, smooth red fruit, likewise its tannins. The finish is on red cherry, near kirsch, and toffee, needs a year to refine. 14°. 5,600 b. €12.50. From 2017. 2022-23 Dec 2015

red, plum colour. There is a herbal softness in the nose, and a smoke-licorice angle that provides an agreeable run into a supple, charming palate. The texture is appealing here. The length is good. Very drinkable, w.o.w. wine. There is a little late grain and tannin. Authentic wine. 14°. To 2018. March 2011 Previously Dec 2009 * (vat) red robe, a little black. Somewhat mouldy top air – fruit that is “high”, on a mulled-liqueur routing, sweet red cherry here. The palate red fruit is sweet-tinted, also carries the threat of early droopiness, possible lurking Volatile Acidity here. Is a vat sample, though - not yet a done deal. From late 2010. 2015-17 Dec 2009

full, dark plum robe; the nose mixes sustained, noticeable black fruits with a blackberry liqueur air, along with a beef stock, very feet on the ground fullness – is of the earth, and also shows some violet. The palate is smoothly fruited, once more with blackberry, with a good filling. The length is good, and it runs consecutively. There is a little power on its outside right at the end. It will drink well early, straight away to 2011. A wine of local character, with its hearty palate and a gutsy outer wrap to the fruit, with some heat on the finish. 15°. 2014-15. Nov 2008

some red, and a little purple in a medium depth robe; sweet, jam airs – mulled mulberries, soaked red cherries. More air reveals eau de vie in this. The palate is also sweet, and is seasoned with herbs. It grows some tannins, runs along generally clean lines, and proceeds with a sense of power after half way. It becomes more dense towards the finish, its length is OK. Can be drunk now given its sweetness – but watch its progress because its alcohol is hovering and may break loose. 15°. 2012-13 June 2008
