full red colour; sweet, cooked plum air with lurking reduction and animal airs. Scented, rather tender red fruit on the palate, which sustains well. A wine of charm more than power – good. There is a late grounding of tight tannins. Decant this. 13°. 2016-17 March 2011

dark, black cherry colour; there is Syrah prominent in the rocking bouquet – hence an air of live black fruits, sleek black jam; it is a little nutted within. A good straight line of black fruit is delivered with life and clear appeal on the palate. The length is sound. A notion of baked stones, and tightening on the finish, along with the taste of licorice. Expressive wine that is grand to drink young, even lightly chilled. Another bottle on a different day was reduced, so be ready to decant this. w.o.w. wine. 13.5°. To 2012. March, Feb 2009
