60-65% Grenache (1950s-1980s), 20% Syrah (1995), 5-15% Mourvedre (1960s), 5% Counoise, Cinsault (mainly 1960s-1970s, a little early 2000s), whole bunch, 25 day concrete vat co-fermentation, pumping overs, 4 part vat emptying/refillings, vat-raised 9 months, fined, unfiltered, 10,000 b but mostly sold in bulk

full, attractive robe; has real racy fruit across and within the bouquet – the fruits are blackberry, plum and are smoky, too. Plum fruit kicks off the palate – this expressive, grounded fruit, with proper weight in it – it is typical of the Grenache from the Plan de Dieu – that slightly baked side. The fruit is well manoeuvred here. There is a tinkle of pleasing late acidity – the finish is live. STGT wine. To 2014. March 2009
