DOMAINE DE MONTVAC
LVT 2018 r 2017 wh 2007 rosé Sound, clear-cut wines, consistent, too. The vineyards are organic. Elegance is favoured over power. The Vacqueyras Mélodine white is very stylish, a really go do, as in 2014, for example. The Gigondas Adage can be fruit-forward, suited to the restaurant trade, with the 2018 a step above that, carrying authority and a good sense of origin, a VALUE **** wine.

Quotes
“I work on ripe but not overripe grapes – Vacqueyras should be a wine of conviviality, to drink with friends.”
Cécile Dusserre
“I suggest drinking my Vacqueyras within 5 to 6 years.”
Cécile Dusserre
“Our white changes to oak fermentation from a steel vat after 1060 density – that allows more aroma and a slower fermentation tha if it were all in vat.”
Cécile Dusserre
“I favour concrete vat raising for the Grenache since it is quite oxidative, and that way I can preserve aromatic purity.”
Cécile Dusserre
“I only do pumping overs which can be with or without air – I’ve never done cap punching, and stopped doing part vat emptying/refilling or rack and return until the late 2000s. My aim is to do an infusion.”
Cécile Dusserre
“In 2012 we didn’t have coulure on the Grenache – it is a very beau vintage, with good complexity and finesse. 2011 is the finesse year par excellence.”
Cécile Dusserre
“2013 is sublime but there is very little – our crop was just 8 hl/ha on some Grenache plots, with an average for the Grenache of 12-15 hl/ha. The wines are very aromatic.”
