60% Grenache, 40% Syrah, destemmed, 2-3 week vinification at up to 25°C, varieties fermented apart, part vat empting/refillings, cap punchings, concrete vat raised 10-12 months, unfiltered, 2,200 b


2 bottles tasted, 1st bottle has taint. Bottle 2: dark red robe. Crunched, nutty, baked notes, a garrigue fullness in the black fruiting of the bouquet, licorice. The palate has a springboard of early berry fruit that is supple and lightly oily, runs into a perfumed, quite clear finale. A free delivery, no-nonsense wine; drink with stews, grills. sound, steady red. Cassis liqueur, mulled air here with vanilla, a touch of peony flowers, raspberry. The palate has a sleek fruit texture, and reflects the nose in its suave, mulled nature. It finishes on the remains of its attack’s carry of fruit. A rather cellar-led wine, OK on its first fruit. 14.5°. 2015-16  Oct 2012
