2017

fine yellow robe; there’s a burst of exotic fruits on the nose, a hint of melon with cooked pear. The palate is soft, floral, bears cosy gras richness, a rounded elegance, fine late juice. This is serene, nicely made, wisps of flowers in it, is pleasing. It plays a good card in refinement, elegance. 14°. 75% Rouss, 25% Mars. €16 is very fair. Bottled Oct 2019. 2023-24 Dec 2019

2016

yellow robe, glints with a touch of green. The bouquet is poised, offers elder berry, neat cooked lemon, orange blossom, is a good start. The palate has style, elegance, is floral and tender, well made, ends roundly, is a marked step up in quality from the classic St-Péray, carries nice detail. It will give a stylish aperitif, or go well with steamed dishes. 13°. €16 is VALUE. 1,800 b. 75% Rouss, 25% Mars. 2025-26 Dec 2018

2014 ()

pale yellow robe. Elderberry, pear and apricot aroma feature in a graceful, beckoning bouquet. There is a flavour of lightly exotic fruits such as mango with peach and nectarine on the palate; it holds cosy white fruits gras, ends roundly, on hazelnut, cooked lime. This bears joli fine acidity and length. 13.5°. To 2019  Dec 2015

2013 ()

yellow, a few green glints. Has an authentic, stylishly fat aroma, a compote of white fruits, pear present, a bonny touch of lime, exotic fruits. Supple, cosy palate that works on texture – smooth – and flavour, white peach, hints of tang. Graceful, true Saint-Péray. Drink with chicken, vegetarian pasta, steamed plaice. It signs off a little quietly. 13.5°. 1,500 b. €7.50 export. 2019-20  Jan 2015

2012

fair yellow colour. Peach-walnut aroma, good thrust in the first notes, vanilla behind them. There are no big fireworks on the palate, but an agreeable, unpretentious run of mild white fruit. It is quietly round, and holds a bonny lime fruit clarity and cut that veers towards mineral, as it ends. OK for the aperitif, a wine of discreet charm. 13°5. 1,500 b. 2018-19  Nov 2013

pale yellow; wax, thyme and varnish mingle on the nose, Asian spices, vanilla also present: the bouquet has weight, offers potential. Tight-knit gras leads the palate, and spreads across it well. Has a fine constitution, good promise to develop more intricate features. Very stylish, good Saint-Péray, shows balance and STGT loyalty to its terroir. The length is fine. For now it ends discreetly; it can broaden on the finish. From spring 2012. 13.5°. 2017-18 Nov 2011

yellow tints. Orange marmalade with a breeze of clarity, flan hints in the bouquet, also green apple and honey. The palate has a firm heart, the flavour of peach, apricot, white fruits jam – the last-named suggests Roussanne. Decent length, ends roundly and pretty clear, too. “The bouquet was more open a month ago,” F.Thiers. 13°. To 2015. Dec 2009

2007 ()

steady yellow colour; has a round, fat, ripe and buttery aroma – all as one. The palate has a slightly limp showing: the texture is pretty smooth, but the flavour is subdued – maybe it is nutty white fruits. It ends firmly, and suggests it is in a temporaray dip now. Try from late 2009. It fades towards the finish. Tasted blind – when I learn how young the vines are, it is pretty respectable, and the taper at the finish is explained. 13.5°. To 2013-14 March 2009
