100% Syrah from 19 hectare vineyard on Côte Diane near Saint-Etienne-de-Valoux, hand harvested, destemmed, 15-18 day vinification, aged 33% new, 67% 1-2-3 year 228-litre oak casks 10-12 months, unfined, filtered, 70,000 b
dark red robe, purple rim. Black cherries, oak lead the nose, the oak prominent. The palate has a cool tenor, its black fruits running clearly and smoothly, the tannins nicely ripe and inside. This gives a sound glass of St Jo, with immediate fruit. The aftertaste is rounded, tidy. Can be drunk now. 13.5°. 70,000 b. 2021-22 Nov 2017
black robe, thorough hue. Mildly fruited nose – a little snap of pistachio nuts, red fruits and reduction in the air. The palate starts with fenced in red fruits that are on a narrow, edgy track. Late on the fruit eases, and shows a gummy, red pastille side. Not in harmony as yet. To 2011. Dec 2007
spicy, peppery nose; chewy, structure with the fruit. Mature flavour. To 2005-06.
