destemmed, 15-18 day vinification, aged 85% vat, 15% oak 14 months


(casks) steady dark red-black robe; smoky, licorice and black fruits aroma – is reductive, the berries are softly scented. The palate gives peppery black fruits that run freely, have a nice licorice and pepper trimming. Has good shape, but the fruit is gummy, reductive for now, the length OK. Not yet bottled, so may be OK after that. 2013-14 March 2009

2005 ()

some darkness in the robe; ripe, almost gourmand nose of scented black fruit and tea leaves. Rather reduced palate – there is supple, simmered berry fruit. Is a bit simple. Suffers from being too extracted – so its ending is dry and nutty. To 2010. Nov 2006

2003 ()

No rating - advanced aroma, ripe fruit, soft underlay. Fruit is stretched, not sure where its centre lies. Raspberry aftertaste. Not sure this is going to come together. Acidified finish, a rasper.

2001 ()

spice/red fruit aroma; light jam, sweets flavour.


light fruit/tar nose; black flavour, some depth.
