2012 ()

onion skin, pale pink. Has a fresh, quite technical air, shows salted, mandarin, grapefruit airs, spring flowers and acacia here – the main impression is its freshness. The palate is close-knit, compact. Red jelly, very mild red fruit lies in it, with a rather round finish. It is OK solo, or with very light foods. It is a bit parched on the end. To mid-2014. 40% Gren, 40% Cins, 20% Syr this year. 13°. May 2013

lucid light pink, legs down the glass. The nose is engaging, shows flowers such as primrose, with suave red cherry fruit. The palate combines quince, red cherry fruit, has a little sweet depth, almost a buttery, white raisin note after half way. Drinkable, and pleasing with olives, salads etc. Has local feel, is a gentle wine but has heart. STGT style here. Better now away from its bottling. 13.5°. To 2014  Oct 2012  Previously Feb 2012 *(*) pale salmon colour; menthol-led, breezy air with enough depth to bring in pebble stones, warm lands and outcrops, smoke and ash. The palate is mildly weighted, gains bite towards the finish, shows snap there. Lacks a real centre of focus – bottled last month, though. Food the better option than solo drinking. Its alcohol is rather prominent. 13.5°. Feb 2012
