dark robe. The bouquet is weighty, on “high” Syrah-inspired reduction, so there are damp soil, sweet prune fruit airs, green olives, a hint of iodine. The palate is suavely textured, holds supple content, a galleon style of a big sail yacht that moves along in stately fashion. It’s a full, gourmand wine without great precision. It avoids headiness, stylistically is fat and wavy wine. It can extend more deeply with another 18 months. It’s good but a bit static. 14°. €8 export. From mid-late 2019. 2031-33 Aug 2018

dark red robe. The bouquet is meaty, has a beef stock air, hints of varnish from oak; it’s thick and broad, sustained, endowed with black berry fruits. The oak is assimilated into a firm, solid content, with dark berries and smokiness, the oak apparent on the close. It’s upright, full, well-built Lirac with sound quality black fruit at its heart; it shows some swish in its delivery. Leave until late 2019 for greater oak fusion. It has a full depth, has salted late moments. Good with beef. Decant it. 14.5°. 2027-28 Apr 2018

dark red. This has a brewed, inky aroma with a note of lamb stock, damp trails, some rosemary from the scrublands, the fruit resembling black cherry. The palate gives a pretty fulsome delivery of smoky, tarry black stone fruits, with a late build in intensity, the smoke and tar stemming from its oak, which shows on the aftertaste. The mid-palate spreads nice and widely, so it gives a tasty impression. Good, get up and go wine for red meats, barbecues notably. 13.5°. €6.90. From 2017. 2022-23  Feb 2016

rather dark. Earthy, truffly black fruits aroma – wide and profound, black chocolate present. The palate is also wide, is juicy and continues with regular smoothness. Plummy black fruit in the taste. The finale is round – ripeness there. A big wine, for big flavours, beef etc. 14.5°. €14.20. 2017-18 March 2011
