2017 ()

refined yellow robe. Has an immediate, springy, alert bouquet, mixes pear, candy, citrus fruits, comes with good life and a neat southern underpin of sure depth, ripeness, and is broad. The palate is tasty, varied around mixed white fruits, white strawberry, peach, with a salty silkiness along the mid to late palate. This is great, offers vivacity and stimulus in the glass, good style in its gras, is w.o.w. Lirac blanc, versatile with foods thanks to the freshness and stylish content. 2016 ()

pale, flint colour. The nose leads on pear backed by apricot juice, crushed white fruits or compote airs, with gentle white flowers and a note of aniseed. The palate has been pepped up by carbonic gas, so the attack is almost frizzante. The flavour centres on pear, and it takes on some firmness in the late content. The texture is southern, discreetly oily, while the aftertaste is nutty. This has the body for la table, more than the aperitif – grilled red mullet (rouget) ideal, perhaps aubergine, courgettes, even if the wine’s gas might clash with some dishes such as tomatoes and their acidity. 13.5°. 2020-21 May 2017

2012

½ bottle: pale robe. The nose is quiet, but has implicit depth, an air of light peach, flowers, a little citrus. This is a competent debut, with some potential. The palate is similar; it is subdued, but has light touch finesse, a sprinkle of acidity to render the finish clear. It may need another 2 to 3 months to bound out of the glass more. It is reticent but agreeable, gives some sense of mid-weighting. There is enough depth on the finish to allow it to go with a dish of girolle mushrooms, a good sign, and that pairing also encourages more nuance, as garrigue herbs come through. It could age in interesting fashion. Safe winemaking over true intent overall. 13°. 2018-19  Oct 2013  Previously May 2013 ** pear, flesh colour. Technical, bonbon-candy air, mixes green apple and oak toast. There is a note of pear, along with spice. The palate is a mixed bag, with no real flavour predominating. It is more nutty than fruity. It ends with a little firmness, doesn’t capture the imagination. Best with simple foods, is a workmanlike Lirac blanc. 13.5°. 2016-17. May 2013

2011 ()

pale yellow, some richness in the robe. Buttery, greengage plum, light flan airs here, a trawl of hazelnut across the glass, a good wee spot of saltiness, nice lift in it. The palate is shapely, the fruit well-juiced, has some southern kick in it, extra depth. The flavour is led by mixed white fruits, and good, continuing acidity contributes brio. Well-made Lirac blanc, a wine of clear features. Refined dishes are suited rather than robust ones – steamed foods, clear sauces. 13.5°. To 2018  May 2013

2010 ()

pale, some legs. Pear comes in light wafts, resembles Viognier to some extent (tasted blind), the nose has a suave curve, is harmonious, shows light toasting from oak. The texture is refined, holds well assembled matter, and its gras runs until a firmer, more chewy ending. Well done, very correct wine. Best with foods such as creamed dishes such as poulet or chicken à la crème. Sound length. Has local virtues, and there is a tang of licorice on the finish. Serve this quite cold. 13.5°. 2009

pale, attractive yellow. Simple harmony bouquet - honey, white fruits - that is pleasing. The palate is also refined, offers easy drinking, with late support and increased weight – all in an easy paced context. Can do the aperitif, no problem – it is a bit overwhelmed by raw salmon, for instance. 13°. To 2013. July 2010

2006

flan, rich aroma with an oily air about it; Fresh white fruits lead the palate – it flows and grips on the finish. Can be more open and complete by 2008, a soundly made wine, better than many Lirac 2006 whites, when alcohol was an issue. 2010-11 June 2007

2005 ()

rounded, low-key aroma led by honey. The bouquet is touching a secondary stage – comes with fennel and a little nuttiness. The palate has fat in it and a honey tone as well. The fruit is peach-like, and this grips OK on the finish. Would be great with chicken fricasée or even curry. Beau vin. 2009-10 June 2007
