Grenache, with Syrah from galet stone covered sand, red marl soils, night machine harvested, cool 48 hour pre-fermentation maceration, 4 week vinification at 30°C, part vat emptying/refilling at first, concrete vat raised 12 months, "drink with chicken prepared with a fricassé of artichoke & potatoes"
inviting dark red robe; this has a bouquet of consequence, a firm, deep aroma of black fruit, intense blueberry-cassis, which offers to open and blossom. There’s a pork-savoury note to it. The palate has a bright, immediate attack, carries stylish black fruited content, good polish in the tannins that orchestrate it well, the finish long and nicely firm. This is superior Côtes red, for la table, and also a pleasing evolution. It has a good, sustained Grenache heart, and the late juice intensity captures the imagination, with notes of garrigue herbs there. 15°. €9.50. From mid-2021, no hurry. 2029-31 Nov 2020
