2016 ()

dark red. This has a frothy, open black berry fruited bouquet with perfume and firm streaks of licorice and an undertow of oak. The palate is lively, runs with free black fruits, has a tinge of sweetness and sweet oak towards the finish, where there is a neat ball of richness, a mulberry flavour. This is good and drinkable, not quite fused together, still a little cellar-leaning. From spring 2018 if you want to be accurate. 13°. 2022-23 Nov 2017

2015

Bottle 1: dark red colour. Cork taint on the nose. Bottle 2: dark red. The nose shows reduction, and needs air. There is an aroma of stewed plums within, a hint of blackberry. The palate gives a swell run of red berry fruit, with tannins that are lightly spiced. This is steady Crozes for drinking from 2017, more à table than solo. 13°. 7,318 b. 2020-21 Oct 2016

2013 ()

(casks) dark robe. The nose gives a good air of simmered black berries and cassis – it is an inviting start, has local feel, shows a little tar, a trace of flowers; it is clear. The palate is less evident for now; it is sealed on dark berry fruit, with an oaked frame around it. A second stage Crozes to drink from mid-late 2016. It holds sound fruit, has sound body, too. The fruit is enjoyable, tasty. €15. 2021-22 Jan 2015

2010 ()

the red hue is a bit matt, not bright. The nose gives plum fruit, stewed fruit, raspberry jam airs, a slight herbs’ influence. The palate fruit is locked into a gummy clamp, as if its accentuated ripeness subdued its freshness. Workmanlike Crozes, suited to stews, foods better than solo drinking. Its late acidity isn’t truly inside the body of the wine. To 2016.  June 2012  Previously Nov 2011 ** fair dark red robe, the top lightening. Has a subdued, low profile aroma – soft red fruit, raspberry present. Could have just been bottled, suspect that (tasted blind). There is a wee tang and tar air. The palate is also mild, the red fruit steady, but lacks buzz, brio. Regular Guy wine, no thrills or special ID. Lacks bounce and width. Tar aftertaste. Try from early summer 2012. Commercial drop, should not be expensive. 12.5°. 2015-16 Nov 2011
