75% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre (early 1970s), Cinsault, hand harvested, destemmed, 15-18 day vinification (20-30 days until 2005), 3 daily pumping overs, vat raised 6-8 months

2003 ()

the bouquet is fairly sustained, although still closed – within there is good, mid-weight fruit, and it shape is round. The palate starts with a ripe fruit impact – black jam. Modern, clean wine. Oak comes along at the end. Tidy and correct, but short on soul. It is a little taut towards the finish and rather vacant and tinny there. 2011. July 2005

2001

has a beefy, knit aroma, still compact at 4 years. Full and meaty palate that persists quite well. There are thickly textured fruits – this is solid stuff. Heated on the aftertaste. OK to drink now. To 2010-11. July 2005
