yellow robe, hints of peach skin. The bouquet has a traditional depth based on vanilla, white fruits, greengage and some lime zest and petrol. It has a virtuous southern nature, and sets it up for la table, Provençal dishes, even before tasting it. The palate bears a good roll of white fruits, dried fruits; it’s expressive and comes with some late tannin that adds a firmness for the close. The Clairette imparts some typical aniseed, while the overall flavour resembles peach fruit near the stone, with a line of cut, tang after that. Not an aperitif wine; drink with pork, white meats, sauced dishes, given its grounded nature. This is STGT Vacqueyras blanc, a wine de la terre. 14.5°. 4,000 b. 75% Clair bl, 25% Gren bl. €12 is fair. 2023-24 May 2017

quite a full yellow. Vanilla, greengage plum, reductive air, that also involves mango, hay, butter. There is a burnt side to the palate’s tight white fruit, which isn’t yet an ensemble. It holds a restrained gras richness, needs to polish its finish and absorb its elements there. From 2014. 14.5°. €9.50 at cellars. To 2019  May 2013
