(casks) dark colour; the nose has an air of mulled raspberries, an underlying sweetness, the fruit style ripe, a little “high”. There is a note of musky flowers with it. The palate bears cosy richness, with a rolling berry content, supple tannins, a late note of sweetness encore. This has the spherical shape of a hot vintage, is a plump, easy offer, rather simple Cornas, lacks the mineral thread of the best. It’s vintage and grape variety over place in the glass, but its ease will please newcomers to Cornas. 13.6°. 5,330 b. €30. From late-2020. 2030-32 Nov 2019

2017 ()

(casks) dark robe; the bouquet is spiced, peppery, on black fruit with nerve. It has a fresh nature, is a bit loose, angular. The palate gives mild black fruits with pepperiness, a gentle note of musky rose petal in behind. It’s a lightweight Cornas, which drinks without great inspiration, is more like a St Jo. Raspberry fruit with coolness comes through on the finish. If it were that St Jo, it would be ***, pleasant enough, but this is Cornas, after all. 2028-29 Dec 2018

bright red robe. Raspberry fruit, very clear cut comes across on the nose, a sense of herbs as well. The attack is light, and this is fleeting Cornas, suggestive of very high up vines, and young vines together [both true]. It’s a dentelle style Cornas with early delivery, but lacks stuffing. 13°. 2025-26 Dec 2018
