2017 ()

(casks) dark red; the nose is sweet, a little grassy also, green apples present. There’s low-key blackberry fruit within. The palate holds some black fruit content without real imprint, goes along quietly, is loose. It feels as if wings have been clipped in the avoidance of high degree. I suspect the presence of Cinsault – it is composed of Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache gris as it turns out [tasted blind], so is well apart from the mainstream. It is a laudable non-interventionist wine, though. 14°. €55. From spring 2020. 2036-38 Oct 2018


dark, pretty shine full red colour. Streaks of licorice, leather and brambly fruit on the bouquet, with some power hovering. Full, assertive wine, with oak apparent late on. Is tight, but has some core richness. Length is sound. Leave till 2008 for greater expression and softness. 2018-20  Oct 2006
