The Wines

Grenache, Syrah, Carignan from stony limestone on compacted sand soils, destemmed, varieties co-fermented 2 weeks at 26°C, pumping overs, concrete vat raised 7-8 months, “drink with grills, duck breast, rib of beef, cheese”

2016

has a dark, imposing robe. There is a warm, rounded bouquet with black fruits, crushed black cherries that have some “high” features from reduction. The Syrah plays a leading role. The palate presents a ball of fleshy, fluid content, cherry near the stone flavouring. There’s a tickle of late grain tannin still working its way in. The texture is smooth until the finish. It’s not quite a true ensemble along the palate, maybe more so from spring 2018. The fruit is easy to appreciate. It will indeed go well with duck breast. 13.5°. 2020-21 Nov 2017
