dark red, with black tints; the nose bears an aroma of stewed fruits, damson plums and blackberries, is cautious for now. The palate mixes red berry fruit with a line of toffee, is gradually moving together, bears discreet promise for a natural, nicely filled glass of St Jo. The ripe tannins enhance it, and the length is steady, no blips there. It is bottled already. 13.5°. From mid-2019. 2030-32 Dec 2018

2011

medium depth red. Has a toffee, oak coated air, with a refined pocket of red fruit lying behind; the bouquet holds up OK. The palate fruits comes along in interesting bursts, including near the finish. Smooth, polished St Jo. Has sound length, offers reliable drinking, no bells or whistles in top of that. 12.5°.
