Roussanne (most), Clairette, Viognier, Grenache blanc (least) all 2005, steel vat fermented until end of alcoholic phase, raised ex-Condrieu 2-3 year 228-litre oak casks, lees stirred for 3 months, total raising 10 months, malo can be done (2014), filtered, "drink with “noble fish, shellfish, white meats in a cream sauce”, 1,500-3,350 b


firm yellow robe; the nose has a ripe 2017 take, is buttery, has a nutty, infused herbal tea approach. The palate gives an early dash of aniseed, is rather rich and rolling, covers the ground, sets itself up for mushroom risottos, truffle dishes. It ends firmly, is more on body than fruit expression, isn’t that evident. The length is safe, the aftertaste coming with a note of jasmin flowers. It’s genuine, intricate, no artifice Cairanne blanc, one to appeal to The Thinkers, who can pause and reflect on it. Decanting helpful. 14°. 3,350 b. 2025-26 Mar 2019

2013 ()

quite a full yellow; has a savoury, rounded bouquet - pear and stewed fruits sit in the glass, a light note of tobacco. The palate holds enjoyable, easy gras richness, is on form now, with a little glow on the finish. A table wine, drink it with risottos, sauced dishes for chicken, turkey. The finish has grip, correct tightness. A natural, local wine. 13°.  To 2019  April 2015
